Matches to Make After UFC Vegas 104

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to the UFC Apex for the second time in March 2025 for UFC Vegas 104. The main event featured a middleweight rematch between former title challenger Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze. While the rest of the event didn’t feature any other ranked fighters, some impressive performances will make fans intrigued about what the winners will do next inside the Octagon.

Here are five matches to make following UFC Vegas 104.

Roman Dolidze vs. Brendan Allen

Dolidze (15-3) extended his current win streak to three by getting revenge over Vettori (19-7-1), who previously beat him in 2023. "The Caucasian" is putting his game together as he recently defeated Anthony Smith and Kevin Holland as well. While 36, Dolidze hasn’t show any signs of decline and he deserves a fight against another dangerous fighter. While he’s had some recent struggles, Allen would fit that bill as the American holds holds key wins over Chris Curtis and Paul Craig. This would give “All In” a chance to rebound following losses to Anthony Hernandez and Nassourdine Imavov, while also giving Dolidze a chance to go up against a top contender afterward. Both men also have unfinished business with one another as the two were supposed to fight in 2021 before Dolidze withdrew.

Chidi Njokuani vs. Jake Matthews

Njokuani scored a stylish TKO win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos by landing damaging punches after clipping his opponent with a knee. Now 25-10, Njokuani has put together three straight victories. "Bang Bang" is 36, so a leap to being a contender is unlikely, but he is always an entertaining and welcome presence on a card. A fight against Australia's Matthews would make sense as "The Celtic Kid" has won three of his last four, including decisions over Philip Rowe and Francisco Prado. Both veterans are always entertaining, so the fun fight is overdue.

Alexander Hernandez vs. Nikolas Motta

Hernandez got past a tough Kurt Holobaugh via unanimous decision to advance to 16-8 as a pro. "The Great Ape" has now picked up back-to-back wins after coming up short against Damon Jackson and Bill Algeo. Also on a two-fight win streak is Brazil's Motta, who would be a good next opponent for Hernandez. "Iron" is coming off a TKO win over Tom Nolan and a decision over Maheshate Hayisaer. Both men are 32 years old, so the time is now to start putting their game together as they are in their prime. Let's see who emerges with a win and can continue climbing the stacked ladder at lightweight.

Da'Mon Blackshear vs. Charles Jourdain

Blackshear is now on a winning streak after submitting Cody Gibson with a slick kimura from the crucifix position. Blackshear (16-7-1) has now won four of his last six fights inside the Octagon. The talented submission artist always provides a fun fight, so I’d like to see the bantamweight go up against Jourdain next. “Air” holds a near-identical 16-8-1 record and has picked up several submission victories himself. While neither are an immediate contender, whoever wins can take on a more dangerous foe and start working their way to the next level of the division.

Brendson Ribeiro vs. Marcin Prachnio

Ribeiro caused the first loss on Diyar Nurgozhay's record with a gorgeous kimura submission. "The Gorilla" is now 17-7 as a pro and has put together two straight wins after starting his UFC stint 0-2. The 28-year-old deserves a more veteran opponent in his next outing and Prachnio fits that bill. The Brazilian is 17-8 and has proved himself as still a dangerous fighter with recent wins over Devin Clark and William Knight. The Polish fighter would serve as a good way to see how much upside Ribeiro really has and if this upset could signal bigger things in his future.
