Ditcheva vs. Hackett
Women’s Flyweights
Dakota Ditcheva (11-0, 6-0 PFL) vs. Chelsea Hackett (4-2-1, 1-1 PFL)Few fighters came into the PFL season with more hype than Ditcheva. The Manchester, England, native has electrified fans with brutal striking and impressive speed. On paper, Ditcheva looks like the best striker out of the flyweights, but her experience is where she needs to improve. She’s only 25 and has never been taken into the deep waters, but she probably won’t need to swim far for her next opponent.
Hackett hopes to rebound after losing to Jena Bishop via first-round armbar in the season opener. The Australian was overmatched against the former International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation world champion on the ground, but Ditcheva will have a better stylistic matchup. Before transitioning to MMA, Hackett was a WMC muay thai world champion with a record of 16-4-3. Being a striker herself could serve Hackett well in this fight. Ditcheva destroyed Lisa Mauldin in her opening bout with a knee to the body, but Hackett is better suited to defend against such attacks. This fight will likely be kickboxing heavy, and that gives Hackett the opportunity to put her experience to use. She’ll need every bit of it. Ditcheva is a monster who doesn’t look like she’ll be slowing down anytime soon. While Hackett’s striking is above average, Ditcheva looks like she could hit with any female fighter on the planet. Her technique is flawless and brutal, and she’ll look to outdo her last performance. Expect “Dangerous Dakota” to make a statement with a first-round knockout.
