BREWER LOOKING FOR HIS SIXTH WIN IN V3FIGHTS’ INAUGURAL PRO EVENT

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Ben Brewer will return to the V3 cage on January 18 to face the toughest opponent of his young professional career, Thomas Gifford.

The V3Legion got to witness Brewer when he was an amateur fighting for the organization. He was undefeated in the V3 cage, their lightweight and welterweight champion, and the ‘Fighter of the Year’ in 2012.

Although only 20 years of age, Brewer already has over 30 fights (if you count both amateur and professional bouts) and he isn’t looking to stop anytime soon. He is currently 5-1 as a professional and has a new home at Nashville MMA.

He got started in combat sports when he was 13 years old. He got into a fight and lost, so he decided to take up jiu-jitsu to learn to protect himself. Then, when he was seventeen, he was at a fight show and someone backed out. The promoter knew Brewer and asked if he wanted to fight. Ben couldn’t say no and ended up winning in the first round via arm bar. He hasn’t slowed down since.

On January 18, Brewer faces his toughest challenge in Thomas Gifford. He has been wanting this fight for quite some time and has called out Gifford on more than one occasion. Gifford is a good all-around fighter, has dominant stand-up, and is even going up in weight to take on Brewer. In fact, he has already defeated three fighters on this same card (Austin Lyons, Dave Burrow, Harry Johnson). Brewer knows that he is in for a tough challenge, but doesn’t seemed to be too worried about Gifford:

“I will be very careful in this fight, but I will win. I’ll have the advantage in the cage. I think he made a big mistake signing that contract and this fight should be quick and easy. I’m not a big 170, so I guess that’s just one less excuse he’ll have when I beat his ass. Big thanks to Nashville MMA for getting me ready for this fight and V3 for giving me another chance to show what I can do.”

Time and time again, Brewer has defeated the odds, and on June 18 he looks to make quick work out of Thomas Gifford!!!

This event will be available on Ustream pay per view and televised on Comcast Sports South.

Ticket prices start at $35.
