By The Numbers: UFC 270 Pre-Fight Edition

Gold diggers will be out in full force for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, as the promotion hits the accelerator on what promises to be an eventful 2020 pay-per-view campaign with UFC 270 on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Francis Ngannou risks his heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in a compelling main event, while Brandon Moreno defends his undisputed flyweight crown and completes his trilogy with Deiveson Figueiredo in the co-headliner.

As UFC 270 “Ngannou vs. Gane” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the competitors on the card have generated to this point:

300,000: Dollars in post-fight bonus money banked by Ngannou since he joined the UFC roster in 2015. He has been awarded “Performance of the Night” six times in his 13 assignments inside the Octagon.

4: Gane victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 40% of his career total (10). His list of victims: Derrick Lewis, Junior dos Santos, Roggers Souza and Adam Dyczka. He holds three other victories by submission and three more by decision.

11: Consecutive calendar years in which Moreno has fought at least once. The Entram Gym star went 1-1 in 2011, 3-2 in 2012, 2-0 in 2013, 2-0 in 2014, 2-0 in 2015, 3-0 in 2016, 1-1 in 2017, 0-1 in 2018, 2-0-1 in 2019, 2-0-1 in 2020 and 1-0 in 2021.

8: Figueiredo wins by submission, accounting for 40% of his career total (20). His methods of choice: five guillotine chokes, one rear-naked choke, one arm-triangle choke and one armbar. Figueiredo owns nine other wins by knockout or technical knockout and three more by decision.

10: First-round finishes on the Andre Fialho resume, three of the sub-minute variety. The Sanford MMA prospect makes his UFC debut opposite Michel Pereira in a three-round welterweight feature.

14: Takedown attempts levied against Pereira in his six UFC appearances. None have been successful. Tristan Connelly was 0-for-6, Diego Sanchez was 0-for-6 and Niko Price was 0-for-2. Pereira’s three other opponents—Kalinn Williams, Zelim Imadaev and Danny Roberts—did not register a single attempt.

7: Countries in which Said Nurmagomedov has competed as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 9-1 in his native Russia, 1-0 in the United States, 1-0 in Portugal, 1-0 in Kazakhstan, 1-0 in Brazil, 1-0 in the United Arab Emirates and 0-1 in South Korea. Nurmagomedov locks horns with Cody Stamann in a high-stakes bantamweight attraction.

56: Professional rounds completed by Stamann. The Michigan Top Team export has gone the distance 15 times in his 24-fight career and carries a 11-3-1 mark in those appearances.

37: Years of age for Silvana Gomez Juarez. The oldest fighter on the card, she was born in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina, on Dec. 6, 1984. Juarez faces former Legacy Fighting Alliance champion Vanessa Demopoulos in an undercard pairing at 115 pounds.

21: Years of age for Michael Morales. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born on June 24, 2000 in Pasaje, Ecuador. Morales puts his perfect 12-0 record on the line Trevin Giles in a three-round welterweight prelim.

.805: Cumulative winning percentage between the 22 fighters scheduled to compete at the event. They boast a combined record of 301-67-6. Pereira owns the most wins (26) and has been saddled with more losses (11) than anyone on the card. Advertisement
